Automotive: Understanding The Air-Conditioning Problems

All new cars sold today are with well equipped air conditioning system. Most of us rely upon this system depending on where we put up and it’s surrounding climate such as in warm southern states. Area that gets heated up in summertime particularly requires an air conditioning unit in the car the most.

It is seen that people tend to become nerveless if the some problem arises with car’s air conditioner unit. The excessively hot and humid climate and traffic jam sometimes leads to road rage.

Instead of creating road rages try to understand the air-conditioning problems at first instance itself. The two most common troubles are either no cool air or the air that flows from the vent is not cool enough.

Let us understand why there can be no cool air flowing from the vent of the air-conditioner

• A broken drive belt lead to air conditioning problems in the car. The main function of the belt is to supply power to the air conditioner, steering, water pump, air pump and the alternator. Your vehicle will stop operating if this serpentine belt is broken. A loose drive belt also stops the flow of cool air from the vent.

• There will be no cold air flowing out from the air conditioner if the fuse gets blown out.

• When the expansion valve gets clogged up there will be no cool air flown out from the cooling unit. Any defect in the expansion valve stops the flow of cold air.

• If the refrigerating line gets choked up the cool air will stop flowing from the air conditioner.

• Choke in the receiver-drier line of the air conditioner also stops the flow of cool air.

• Leak in hoses stops the flow of cold air. Among all the air conditioning problems; this problem must be identified and repaired immediately, because additional leakage of refrigerants are harmful to the atmosphere.

Now let us understand why the cold air that flows from the vent is not enough.

One of major air-conditioning problems is insufficient flow of cold air coming from the air-conditioner. The main reasons for this are:

• Problem in drive belt leads to slower down the flow of cold air from the vent of the air-conditioner. The problem may be in form of loosened drive belt. The drive belt basically gets decompressed due to the normal wear and tear.
• Blocked up condenser or evaporator leads to insufficient flow of cool air from the vent.
• Low refrigerant charge is one of the major air-conditioning problems that most the vehicles faces.
• When the expansion valve gets clogged up partially the flow of cold air becomes insufficient.
• Any sort of problem with the compressor clutch slipping slows down the flow of cold air from the A/C.

How to fix up the problems in the air-conditioners

In order to fix up the air conditioning problems, it is always ideal to take the help of auto repairing companies. Most of these companies offer the air inspection service. There will be a complete inspection of the air conditioner unit in your car. This inspection will help you out to diagnose any kind of problems, thus accordingly your car’s air conditioner unit will get repaired.
