Automotive: Training And Career Choices

Introduction:

The term 'Automotive' brings to mind a vague image of a machine or a mechanical device in motion. As the name goes on, it deals with the automation of various devices put together. Today, the automotive industry constantly strives for making things simple for the human life and has very much succeeded in this purpose.

The field of automotives has grown to a vast extend in the past decade with all countries willing to share their part of inventions and devices; gradually leading to a comfortable earth.

Automotives can be anything from a simple motor powered bicycle to a complex submarine. But today, the term is mostly dedicated to the world of transportation vehicles and their associates. The automotive industry includes everything right from the designing, development and adding finishing touches to the product. The post production formalities i.e. marketing and sales also give rise to a large business activity.

Training in Automotives:

Automotive training deals with intense accuracy and perfection. This field is open to anyone who pursues any education in a mechanical field or a short course specialization in automobiles. In this field, a complete assembly does not take place. Instead each part is designed and manufactured alone and then combined to get the final outcome. Training starts at a low level as perfection can be gained in this profession only through experience.

Here people are first trained to concentrate on one part of the model and at later stages the complete picture is visible to the trainee. There are more than 100 companies which have been successful in trading their motors around the globe. These companies prove instrumental for providing first class experience to the trainees.

The world of automotives is not only limited to hand drawings and tool grafting but is more or less dependent on computers. The designs and modeling which previously took long tedious hours have been replaced by fast and accurate computer graphics. Thus efficient computer operators have an edge in this industry. The other things that drive people here is their passion for new and emerging automobile concepts.

Careers in Automotive:

Automotive industry is one of the fastest growing fields of economy today. With a mammoth sale of 71.9 million automobiles in 2008, there is a large scope of career building in this industry. Students pursuing mechanical degrees and diplomas from reputed universities are directly recruited by multinational companies every year. There is always a need for smart brains that can enhance the existing technologies and can produce much efficient machines.

New designs are always the need of the market and thus, designers are the much sought after people by the automotive companies. The manufacturing of spare parts that are used in the automobiles is something which can raise one's career graph.

The automotive industry also gives birth to a new set of entrepreneurs which deal in vehicle accessories. Keeping the manufacturing unit on one side, we find a variety of post production activities that can be pursued as a career. This includes sales and servicing of the automobiles and thus maintaining customer relationship.
